Is Your Home Where Your Heart Is?

The Happy Life System Home Pillar

Home is Where the Heart Starts

Welcome to the heart of the Happy Life System! 

There are 8 powerful pillars in the Happy Life System, each designed to bring more happiness and fulfillment into your life. And today, we’re focusing on one that's close to my heart the Home Pillar.

Creating a loving relationship with yourself is what I always come back to. Giving yourself love and honoring what you bring to this world is so important. And as parents, we also have a big role in empowering our kids. We want to raise them to be confident, resilient, and joyful. So guess where that magic starts? Right at home!

Think of your home as your headquarters, your launching pad. It’s the place where you and your children start each day, full of potential and positivity. A happy home isn’t just about four walls and a roof. It’s about the love, care, and intention you bring into it every single day.

I make it a priority to pour love into our space everyday with my family. Whether it’s tidying up the living room, fixing that leaky faucet, or even just lighting a candle at dinner. It’s about infusing our home with positive energy and gratitude. And trust me, the vibes you create here ripple out into every part of your life.

Your home is the foundation of your family’s happiness.** **And when you bring love and intention into your home, you’re setting the stage for a life filled with joy and fulfillment.

And guess what? This blog will show you how to transform everyday tasks you’ve got to do around the house into powerful moments of connection and joy for you and your kids.*** Keep reading to flip the script on home care and make it a source of happiness!***

    Elevate Your Home Vibes

The** Home Pillar** is such an important part of the Happy Life System. And I’m sharing an element with you today we’re focusing on care.

Care isn’t about cleaning or filling your home with things (although, hint , those are all part of the Home Pillar too!). Care means seeing what things in your home need love and appreciating that you have the ability to repair, fix, and spruce up the space you have. It's showing your kids that you don't always need something brand new and you don't always need to consume, which in the world we live in, isn’t always the easiest thing to do. But, I’m telling you it’s possible.

You’ve got to start with a mindset shift. Instead of seeing things around the house that need some fixing as a hassle, view them as opportunities to show love and gratitude. When you care for your home, you’re creating a positive, loving environment for everyone.

Here are some ways to reframe those home improvement tasks:

    • Before you start something on your home to-do list, take a moment to be grateful. “I’m so lucky to have fresh water, so let’s fix this leaky faucet.” “I’m so grateful for a yard that my children love to play in, today we’re going to fix this broken swing.”

    • Replace “I have to” with “I get to.”  “I get to spruce up this table with some polish.” “I get to sew this couch cushion.” This simple change makes a huge difference in how you feel about caring for your home.

    • Involve your kids in the process. This. is. a. must!!! Put on some music, dance while you do things like repaint scuffs on the wall or repair a flat on the lawn mower tire, and make it a bonding experience.

    • When you finish something, take time to appreciate what you’ve done. Share the sense of accomplishment with your kids.

By focusing on care and intention, you’re not just maintaining a house you’re creating a home filled with love and positivity. When you and your kids treat your home with respect and gratitude, it becomes a joyful, happy place for everyone.

Love Your Space, Love Your Life

Something I love to do is stack habits. And this is a great focus when you are talking about being intentional with your home. When you do this, all the routines and practices you put in place build upon each other and create this life of positivity and abundance.

Instead of getting annoyed that you’ve got to get out the toolbox or grabbing stuff from your junk drawer and dragging your feet because you have some repairs to do focus on appreciating and respecting everything in your space. Make this your habit. I’m here to tell you, this mindset shift has transformed my life, and it can do the same for you.

So put on some music, and celebrate the process of caring for your home. When kids learn to care for their things, they develop responsibility and gain a sense of fulfillment, which spills over into every part of their lives.

A well-cared-for home is the foundation of a happy life. Trust me, the energy you put into your home has a huge impact on your family's well-being.
